Perched on a basalt outcropping just north of downtown Depoe Bay, Whale Watchers Getaway looks down at surging ocean waves studded with seabirds, and if you’re lucky, whale spouts! Located above a kelp forest where migrating and resident whales like to feed, this elegant 2nd-floor condo will keep your eyes on the ocean as cormorants, pelicans, and gulls sweep past. Relax in front of large windows in the soothing living room, newly furnished with Oregon-made Stanton sofas, a Roku TV, and a warm electric fireplace. The dining table has an ocean view, and it’s easy to eat in from the fully equipped kitchen with quartz counters, a breakfast bar, stainless-steel appliances, and a window that looks north up the coastline to Boiler Bay. A king suite includes a recliner and TV, plus a spa-like bath with a walk-in shower. The second bedroom is furnished with two twin beds, a TV, and a window to the sea. This thoughtfully outfitted home includes some wonderful extras: a portable hammock for two; two patio chairs, a portable outdoor table, and outdoor pillows and blankets for the balcony; loads of extra blankets, floor fans, games, puzzles, and even an office desk and chair. An easy extension hose lets you spray salt from the balcony windows for the perfect view. Spend the day watching passing whales and the evenings with breathtaking sunsets.
Walk 2 minutes north from the condo to the state park at Boiler Bay for fantastic panoramic coast views, or head 1 mile south to Depoe Bay’s seawall, shops, and restaurants. Depoe Bay harbor is a departure point for whale-watching and fishing expeditions. On a lucky day, though, you’ll see whales right from your living room while staying at Whale Watchers Getaway!
Whale Watchers Getaway is a 15-minute drive to Newport and a 15-minute drive to Lincoln City. Amazing tidepools can be found 2 miles away at Fogarty Creek State Park.
