That means you can barbecue and dine on the home’s deck as you watch tidal water move in and out of the salt-water channel at your feet, while heron fish and seabirds soar overhead. You can also walk to the fantastic beach at Bayshore, with flat, sandy stretches open to wind, surf and sky, or to the Alsea River and views of its beautiful bridge. If you want to swim, the seasonal pool at the Bayshore Club is accessible for a fee.
This clean and casual cottage has a pretty living room with lots of seating, a TV/DVD, and a dining area that opens to the deck. The fully equipped kitchen has extra counter space for kitchen helpers and all you’ll need to cook up a coastal feast—maybe you’ll catch some crab in the bay or find some fresh fish on the boats in Newport. The three bedrooms, including a queen master suite with a sky-lit shower, give you plenty of room for family or extra friends. Though there’s plenty to do in this terrific location on foot, you’ll have short day trips galore on tap if you jump in the car—the Oregon Coast Aquarium and Newport’s Historic Bayfront are a half-hour away, and the dunes, Sea Lion Caves, and famous Heceta Head Lighthouse near Florence are a half-hour to the south. In between are dozens of fantastic beaches and forest hikes, plus interesting towns to explore. When you need a rejuvenating and unfettered vacation at the beach, this sweet home has the perfect location and laid-back vibe to keep you as busy or as relaxed as you’d like.
